Family Holiday at Avillion Admiral Cove

|

Me, Mak & Kak Long's Family held a holiday at Avillion Admiral Cove, Port Dickson. Unfortunately, Kak Ngah can't join us, as her family join for "Lancer Kotak" konvoi. Bout approx 40minutes from Kajang, we found the place offer a great place for relaxing with a great panoramic sunset view (I LOVE this part) hahaha..and the rate for night stay is worth a price. Arrived there at almost 1830hours , I've been served with such a Beautiful Sunset Scenery and I quickly grab my gear and "pacak" my tripod. Manage to play some of CLS outdoor with a awesome background giving my heart melts looking at the beauty. So.. here's some of the shot... enjoys =)

p/s - when gonna be our next holiday here again? hahaha...

Amri & Ima Engagement

|

The previous photo assignment for being a photographer for my housemate engagement. The engagement took place at the gurl's house (of course la kn?...hehe) here in Kemaman.

On that day, after preparing my gear, i straight away meet Amri at Sultan Abd Samad mosque. He guide me thru his fiance's house somewhere in Kemaman area (I didn't know what the place called.. hehe).

After Amri left me to pick-up his family, I left alone at his fiance's house. Hurmm... nothing to do in such an early...no people yet. haha.. but the meal already prepare.. yess.. that's what i like it... With my walled-face, slowly I ask his fiance can I have my meal 1st, so that later on.. I won't need to worry about my stomach when I started my duty there.. (during duty..it's not appropriate to have a meal at the same time..hehe). So I pick-up the plate and start the belasah lauk-pauk there..owh.. not to mention.. I'm the 1st person eating down there.. haha..

After that, I start wondering around the house seeking some spots to compose my picture. Then starting to take close-up to the hantaran prepared for the guys side. Around 2 o'c , Amri and his family arrived, and my full-duty began...and this are some shots that I like to share with you all. Thanks for the viewing. Enjoys

Tokina 28-80mm f2.8 AT-X Pro

|
Focus Performance Test

Hi all,

Today entry it's about this tokina 28-80mm lens. It can be called obsolete lens as Tokina don't produce it anymore now. I bought this lens a second hand one from one of the famous photography forum in M'sia, PhotoMalaysia.com
There a lot of buy/sell photography stuff u can find there. with a very great bargain, u can get a 2nd hand lens/body/accessories with an affordable price.

I got some inspiration to wrote some performance test bout this lens from some of "homework" i've done before i purchase this lens. But i only concentrate on the focus performance of this lens. Some comparison been made of this lens with Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG from this website tawbaware.com. It can be seen clearly that Tokina overwhelmed the Sigma for the image sharpness. As been said from the website

In general, the Tokina produces sharp images at F5.6 and smaller apertures. The Sigma needs to be stopped down another stop or two to produce its best results. Even so, it never quite catches up to the Tokina in sharpness.

And with this lens in my hand, I have choose to test it and experience myself the image/sharpness of the lens itself. but before that, here some of picts of the lens.

So .. here the test, camera mounted on a tripod and timer been used to avoid any unnecessary shacking that will probably cause the image to blur.

Result

So.. the first one, the widest 28mm and the narrowest 80mm to be tested, f2.8-5.6

For 2nd test, for same aperture f2.8-5.6 with 35mm & 58mm

Conclusion

So to conclude this lens performance, this lens remarkably produce acceptable sharp image on f3.5 and above. Thus, to increase the image quality of this zoom lens, try not to fully zoom-in (80mm) nor zoom-out (28mm) to take a shot, give some tolerance to the maximum end-zoom by 10-20mm i.e 35mm-60mm only. It will noticeably the different of the image sharpness + Chromatic Abbreviation (CA) between this zooming range.

Tilt-shift technique

|

does if looks like a miniature GT cars? hehe.. this process called, tilt-shift faking technique.. quite simple editing using PS, some of simple tutorials guides are either from "tilt-shiftphotography.net" or "visualphotoguide.com"

Lets give it a try.. hehe

having fun with my Mr. Tele

|
My first few shot from my new nikon 70-300mm G lens, hehehe.. capture this shot just behind my house's backyard. Quite amaze of the zooming capability of this lens, worth for its price and capability. It's not a macro type lens or VR type. So the min focus distance approx 1.5m and gonna keep a steady hand-held if shot with shutter speed below 1/200s 1/300s.

As the rule of thumb, to reduce camera shake, try to compensate the shutter speed as 1/(focal length) 1/(focal length x crop factor) i.e if zoomed at 300mm, the shutter should be more than 1/300s 1/450s for hand-held shot. Hehe. [Thanks Kurt for the correction..hehe =)..for d50 user..1.5x crop factor, hehe]

The color captured by this lens quite vibrant too..afterall.. I enjoys my new Mr. Tele lens.. Thanks

Lets play macro

|
been addicted to shot a macro after been poison by Kery, would end-up me exploring thru my backyard bushes, searching for object to "macro"ed haha..
got a few shot of it, compiled during a day and nite shot.
wanna try to fully utilize my equipments to its limit
with some equipments that i already been own for a long time
"wide converter filter"
this filter have two section, the wide lens part, and the macro lens part,
it mush used together to take a wide shot, but, i take up the macro lens part (it's a filter actually) and try to mount it to my kitlens, what a significant changes that i get, it really can focus as minimum as approx 2-3cm from the subject.
woww!!.. that a good one.. so.. here some of the picts of the shot. enjoys. =)

Equipments:

1) D50
2) 18-55mm kitlens
3) 10+ close-up filter
4) SB 600
5) extended white bounce card

Outing with Luarbiasa Flickr Group - Trip to Bukit Panorama Sg. Lembing

|
This gonna be the intro. hahaha, Today (23May09) I've join Luarbiasa Photography one of Flickr Group, Administrate by Jamal Rahman , and currently have 183 members all over Malaysia and over the world.

With a short plan goin to Air Terjun Pelangi located nearby Sg. Lembing area, we start our journey @ 430am this morning (but i've start my journey @ 330am from kemaman, wake-up @ 3) - with a cool chilled raining weather, it takes all the guts to wake up and start driving the car in the middle small rainy.

With a pre-plan, gathering at Kolej Shahputra, Indera Mahkota at 4am. But with a quite rainy roads, i've arrived there at 415am, haha.. but looks like i'm the only one here, but its ok, call organizer they already on the way there.

Our initial plan to go to Air Terjun Pelangi was canceled, when we receive a call from our Lorry Driver and also the Tour Guide to the air Terjun Pelangi said that, it's not advice able to continue trekking in this rainy road conditions both, for our safety and also the lorry itself. The track gonna be super slippery there. So.. we end up with a backup plan to hike Bukit Panorama nearby.

About 40minutes trekking of a mixed cement-paved steps and rocking-soil, we manage to be on top of the bukit panorama in time before the sunrise. BUT.. unfortunately, the sunlight cannot reach through the sky due to the cloudy+rainy weather. Just a few glance and shot of the scenery, and I end-up interested in macro after been "Racun" by agoradigit AKA Kery using his Raynox-close-up adapter to snipe a bit on the insect up there. So..this is my 1st Macro shot using borrowed Raynox. hehe..He teach me some skills how to shot a macro shot and I'm very impress with his skills. Thanks Kery for the lesson and the "Racun" one.. hahaha.

Berkelah @ Sg. Congkak

|
During "Hari Buruh" holidays...we as one family, me+mom+kakngah+kaklong+abg ej+abg joey+haziq+najwan+ammar+najmi+amni+ (two babies that don't know the name yet.. hahaha) had somehow small picnic at Hutan Lipur Sg. Congkak. Located about 20minutes from Pekan batu 11, Hulu Langat.

The weather very good that days, the sun just shining bright, makes us eager want to have a "mandi sungai". hahaha. The water very chill and refreshing. but little dissapointed abit, the water not as crystal clear as i've gone 5 years back. hahaha..but its ok..still makes me shaking freeze to the bone again..

Mom, had prepared nasi lemak for all of us. Yapp.. very Delicious.. nyum2...filling our freezing and empty stomach with yummy nasi lemak. haha. We reaching there around 9am and leave the place at 12. Refreshing experience..(actually it's been a long time ago.. we having a picnic.. all over the family...normally.. some of us.. might be left.. so some other reason..haha..like a family gathering..)

An evening at Kak Long's house

|
an evening at my sister's house, goin there with my mom, having fun with the kids, my mom also have a little picnic at the garage..haha.. just lepaking atas tikar...

as usual, pok cu job is to takes great moments while they having fun.

MY Vee

|
Haipp... this are my Vee had a little pose at Kuala Kemaman. Taking this shot while quite bored at home during weekend.

Some upgrade such as
1) Tinted (Air-cool)
2) Sports spring (Tanabe, sustec DF210)
3) Custom bumper trim (Carbon fiber look)

The tint done at BBB (Bandar Baru Bangi). Quite good the tint, can feel the different using it. [of course, if not.. i'm just wasting my money for nothing.. hahaha]. Also like the color too...looks more handsome lar.. like wearing sunglas like that.. hahaha.

Tanabe spring? wooo.. i've been "sembelih" by one this seller at K*****n , I don't know why i can bought from this fella. I supprised after installing this spring, and "gatal" to search this spring price on forum, and found that, I can get the same spring and save about RM150 more.. woowww.. it's a lot, so unfortunate I'm not fully survey on internet b4 purchasing this spring.. aiiyaa... rugi wooo..but.. it worth. [nak sejukkn hati] ahahha.. the result after installing this spring, the car feels more stable during fast cornering, and makes me more confident taking high-speed corner at Karak H/W. That's very useful. I always use this road for my balik kampung one..but a bit trade-off. U might feels the car more bumpyer (due to more stiff) when driving on uneven roads. But it's ok to me.. i'm used to it. My old kancil also installed with similar kind of setup.

The front trim on my bumper? hahaha.. that's a secret.
